The Lawrence School Window Replacement, in Falmouth, MA, is nearing completion. The project was completed as part of the MSBA’s Accelerated Repair Program. The School’s existing 30 year old windows were replaced with 20,000 sqft of new thermally broken aluminum windows with energy efficient glazing. The existing exterior doors and frames of the school were also replaced with new aluminum frames and doors. Additionally 8 octagonal windows were re-glazed, and a boarded up clerestory in the gymnasium was replaced with a new energy efficient glazing system. 1,100 sqft of skylights were infilled with a new EPDM membrane roofing system.
The McCarthy School Window Replacement, designed by architect Ann Keane, has been completed. The project was completed as part of the MSBA’s Accelerated Repair Program. Seals on the original windows and curtain walls had failed, and areas of existing plexiglass had become clouded. The old single glazed system was replaced with new thermally broken window, storefront, and curtain wall systems, totaling 9,000 sqft of opening replacement.
Civitects also oversaw the replacement of the roof at the McCarthy School in 2015.
Accessible Unit Conversion for the New Bedford Housing Authority,designed by Principal Michael Keane, has been completed. The Projects converted two existing units, at the Housing Authority’s Hillside Court development, into a New Accessible Unit. The Unit received new kitchen / bathroom fixtures, appliances, and cabinets. All work was completed in accordance with ADA and AAB guidelines.
The Nantucket Field Station for UMass Boston, designed by Principal Jane Gleason, has been completed. The newly renovated Field Station falls within the Nantucket Historic District, which required coordination with the local historic society in order to move forward with the project. The exterior of the building was repaired, in areas damaged by rot, and new siding was installed. New equipment was installed along with refurbished millwork.
Civitects has recently completed overseeing renovations to our new office space. The new office is located at 66 Troy Street in Fall River, in the Merrell Building (formerly a mill for the union belt factory). The suite was designed by Principal Jane Gleason. The renovated space features exposed heavy timber beams and brick walls, to compliment modern furniture and equipment.
Civitects has completed design and oversaw the renovation and expansion of the existing Fall River YMCA building. The renovations included new squashcourts, after-school / daycare spaces. wellness center, and renovations to the existing natatorium and gymnasium. Historic tax credits were utilized to help fund the project.
