Johnny Kelley Park – New Recreation Building
Dennis, MA
Civitects recently completed a new recreation building for the Town of Dennis, MA at Johnny Kelley Park. The new building, which sits adjacent to an existing recreation pavilion, was designed to serve as a community space for a wide-range of recreational activities from summer camps to town meetings.
In response to the town’s need for an all-season facility sufficiently sized to accommodate the Recreation Department’s successful summer program, the new structure incorporated a great room, office space, and new restrooms. The new building was designed to be fully accessible and offers sufficient space for a variety of indoor recreational activities while also functioning as a public meeting space for the town. Both the Great Room and the Office space can be securely locked from public access, however, the restrooms are positioned immediately inside of the main entrance, making them publicly accessible throughout the year for pedestrians enjoying the park or nearby trails.
