The main goal of this project was to increase the seating capacity of the exsiting auditotium. A connector was added to the exterior of the building to maintain code compliance for the increased occupency, while also helping strengthen the auditorium’s connection with the rest of the campus. Also included in the project were remedial renovations to nearby support spaces, including offices, storage spaces, and the adjacent corridors.

Feasibility Study: Civitects oversaw architectural, preservation, conservation and structural consultant services to develop an exterior and interior restoration and renovation program for this much-used performance venue.

Phase I Renovations: the work included analysis of interior painted finishes and cleaning of historic murals, minor areas of exterior masonry restoration to address moisture infiltration and to protect historic murals, theatrical upgrades and re-opening of the original balcony.

The project was Phase I of a multi-phased program to upgrade the MMA athletic facilities. Overused natural turf fields have been converted to synthetic turf fields which are used sometimes almost around the clock for multiple sports.

This project included construction of a new Press Box addition to the third floor of the existing gymnasium. Also included are renovations to create an adjacent cardio area and a new vertical platform lift.
